Security warning from the board president

Dear Residents:

There have been some issues involving burglaries in the past and we would like to help you protect your property and keep your family safe. There are some things that you can do to help yourself and those around you:

  • Maintain your property. This includes picking up mail, papers and debris.  Replace any damaged fencing.  Plant hedges or rose bushes in front of windows to slow down or detract a would be burglar.
  • Keep gates locked with latch or padlock and keep doors locked at all times. Remove keys from dead bolts and put in a location that only you and your family know.  Install bumpless key locks.  Make sure your door does not move in the locked position and the locks engage fully. Purchase doorknob alarms that will be tripped if someone opens the door.
  • Install motion sensor lights on perimeter of house.
  • Always put your vehicle in the driveway so that people know you are home and lock all the vehicle doors.  If you are home alone, keep your vehicle keys with you. You can use your vehicle as an alarm by hitting the panic button. This will scare off any intruders and alert your neighbors.
  • Install an alarm system in your home.  Add stickers to doors and windows from a security company.
  • Meet your neighbors around you.  Take note of the vehicles they own. Talk to your neighbors about any suspicious people or strange vehicles you notice lurking about.
  • When you enter or leave the neighborhood and have extra time, make it a point to drive all three streets and report any suspicious looking vehicles or people.
  • Come to the monthly association meetings so you know what is going on with our subdivision.

Please Contact Eric Bennington or the board if you are interested in volunteering for the neighborhood watch program and learn how you can get involved.

You can also call any of the board members if you have any questions or need any assistance concerning your property or the neighborhood.  By doing as much as you can to work with these tips we can all fill safe and enjoy our neighborhood together.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Eric Bennington, President HOA
